Ajax Tavern

If you’re looking to experience one of the most popular (and reasonably priced) restaurants in Aspen, look no further than the Ajax Tavern. Here you’ll find a family atmosphere, plus a full bar and an award winning wine list. The Tavern provides a cozy, mahogany-walled escape during the cold winter months, and during summer you can enjoy breathtaking views from the expansive deck. The menu at Ajax’s consists of “haute cuisine,” which means high cookery. Dishes here come from a centuries old tradition of Italian cuisine which calls for plenty of fresh ingredients.

Aspen Mountain Club

The Aspen Mountain Club is a hidden gem boasting unmatched views of the Elk Mountain Range from every room. Renowned New York designer David Anthony Easton appointed this 4,400 square foot private club, a unique space down to its antique Austrian tables and hand-woven rugs. Private events are staffed by The Little Nell and can host 250 for a cocktail reception, or 120 in the elegant dining room.

Campo De Fiori

Flavors of Italy in the heart of Aspen’s Downtown Central Core. Campo uses the freshest ingredients to create superlative Italian cuisine. The extensive wine menu offers the finest grapes. Open 7 days a week from 6pm.

Creperie du Village

Little Annie’s Eating House

Annie’s is the local’s hang in Aspen, and for good reason. If your idea of a good time is feasting on fresh fish, barbecue chicken, ribs or lamb in a relaxed atmosphere (all at a reasonable price), then come to Annie’s. The ambiance here consists of ultra-simple wood paneling and red and white tablecloths. If you’re looking to get drinks, order the shot and beer special. For those with a sweet tooth (who doesn’t?), try the irresistible Bundt cake.

Main Street Bakery & Cafe

A locals favorite this Aspen Restaurant offers donuts, blueberry pancakes, mocha-chinos, cakes, breads, and pies. Hot and cold vegetarian entrees. Homemade soups daily. Beer and wine service. Cakes made for special occasions. Outdoor dining patio in summer.


Noted chef Nobu Matsuhisa in collaboration with Nobuko Kang, created this exquisite establishment where sushi is an art form and the patrons are famous or look as if they should be. Reservations at Matsuhisa may be difficult to come by during the high season. Reservations expected one month in advance.

Aspen Restaurant and Farm Shop featuring world farm house cuisine, craft beers, eclectic wine list, fresh juices, coffee, meats, seafood, cheeses, cured meats, artisan bread, unique pantry staples and precious housewares. Dine with us or purchase the ingredients to create your own meals at home.


Modern Italian Cuisine including wood-fired pizza. Serving lunch, apres ski and dinner every day. Mezzaluna is Italian for half moon and is also a double handled mincing knife.

New York Pizza of Aspen

Nothing satisfies the appetite better after a long day on the slopes than warm, fresh pizza (with plenty of zesty toppings) straight from of the oven. New York Pizza is the place in Aspen for great service, specialty pizzas, sandwiches, beverages (including frosty beer) and more. This pizza joint (located upstairs) is open after midnight too — a rarity in Aspen. For those with colossal vegetarian cravings, try the Greek salad with lots of sun-dried tomatoes.

Pine Creek Cookhouse

The Pine Creek Cookhouse is more than a restaurant, it’s an experience that you will never forget. To get there (in winter), you’ll need cross-country skis or a horse-drawn sleigh (contact the Cookhouse to reserve your carriage. Note: make sure to pack warm layers!). You can hike or bike here in summer. Once you arrive at this homely log cabin, make sure to get a seat on the fabulous deck overlooking the Elk Mountains, and let the friendly staff take care of your needs. The dinner menu contains game specialties such as quail, elk, wild boar and more. Lunch: hot smoked salmon, salad, spinach crepes and Hungarian goulash are the specialties.

Serving lunch daily noon to 2:00, dinner nightly 6 – 8:30 p.m. Reservations recommended.


Piñons is the hardest place to get a reservation (summer or winter) in Aspen and with good reason. This quintessential Aspen dining experience, with a Colorado-Western theme, has a creative southwestern-inspired menu and an extensive wine list. Appetizers at Piñons are unique, try the pheasant quesadilla with herbed goat cheese and peperonata or Prince Edward Island mussels in a puff pastry. Main courses consist of elk tenderloin, Colorado striped bass, grilled rack of lamb, New York steak, blackened pork tenderloin and more. Weather permitting, be sure to get a seat on the outdoor patio and enjoy views of Aspen Mountain while dining. Reservations accepted by phone only Pinons Restaurant. Dinners served nightly from 5:30 until close.

Woody Creek is a charming rustic tavern in Aspen. The décor here consists of walls covered in old news clippings and hodgepodge western memorabilia. Dishes here consist of American and Mexican cuisine, including barbecued pork ribs, thick steaks and burgers (made with local, low-fat beef); plus organic salads, and a varied vegetarian menu. While at Woody Creek, don’t miss out on the house drink: fresh-squeezed lime-juice margaritas made with 100% blue-agave tequila. Outside seating is available in summer.
